Thumbs down Nonsense!!

She stated that "This shooting also demonstrates the fallacy that mass shooters will avoid venues where people are likely to be armed or that mass shooters can be stopped easily by armed individuals. Ignoring the lessons of this most recent tragedy will only guarantee that the pattern will be repeated at yet another location."

First of all, Hasan knew that the Soldiers he was going to encounter was going to be unarmed. ALL soldiers know that the ONLY people armed on any military base(CONUS) will be the MPs or CID related agents. I can point out that if the soldiers in that center were armed, it wouldn't have ended up with the same casualty count(13 dead & 31 wounded). I bet most of the lives could have been saved, possibly the 21 year old & 6 week pregnant soldier, who honorably served overseas just to be cut down on her return, what a shame!

CNN is also jumping on the antis bandwagon by stating his FN 5.7 is called the "Cop Killer" gun!

Just more propaganda!!

Like the Luby's massacre in neighboring Killeen, Texas that occurred 18 years ago and left 23 dead and 20 injured, the facts are as simple as they are disturbing: easy access to unmatched firepower allows angry individuals to kill and wound at will.

Exactly. that is why all those people in Luby's died. because the firepower of the killer was unmatched. If everyone in there had been armed his killing spree would have been cut short with a lot less loss of lives. That is the reason we have CHL in Texas today. Because of the determination of one women who lost both her parents that day to make sure she would never be unarmed again.

on the news today they sure were putting a lot of blame on the gun saying it was a very high power pistol that shot high velocity bullets and with magazines that held 20 rounds. said he had 2 pistols so that made it 40 rounds so they say. then they said that some of the shot people could have been from friendly fire. give me a break. this jackass has them all hating the gun more than him who is actually to blame. I hope he gets the death penalty. if those same guns would have been in different hands then I bet no one would have ever gotten shot. STOP BLAMING THE GUN!!!

Some of the liberals out there are so stupid they would want to turn him loose and hang the gun. After all we should not blame him. He is a product of society don't you know. Those evil guns end up possessing someone and they just have no choose but to kill.

Reports are starting to surface on the sidearm used. FNH 5.7.

The Associated Press: AP Sources: Rampage gun purchased legally

FN Five-seveNŽ Series

ABC News calls it a "Cop Killer" (Go figure!)

'Cop Killer' Gun Thought To Be Used In Ft. Hood Shooting - ABC News

Some reports claim a 30 round mag was used. I thought the FNH was for Military and LE so I'd say he'd qualify for purchase.

I always wonder what makes a particular gun a cop killer. Does this mean that say a 44 magnum is not a cop killer?

Sure, .44 is a cop killer. Its power is legendary.
Sure, .380 is a cop killer. It's so small the bad guy can conceal it so well the cop will miss it on a pat down.
Sure, .22 is a cop killer. It can be silenced easier so that nobody knows who did the shooting.

Sorry, Back to the subject.
Locally, they played a clip from a ranking officer's interview and he said: "No, we're not armed here. This is our home where we're safe and secure. Nobody has a weapon unless they're in the middle of a training exercise."

Trying to spin this any other way is just a lie.
