Through my experience, I've learned that certain guns just don't like certain brands/types of ammo. Make note of the types of ammo you have cycled through the firearm and note any problems or performance issues. Get to know the firearm and what it can do. This will save a lot of time and headache in the future.
Another thing to consider would be that you had a bad lot of ammo. Note the lot number and pick up another box of the same cartridges, just be sure that they're from a different lot number. If you get the same type of malfunction with the ammo from the different lot number, then it's likely the ammo design rather than a particular lot of ammo.
Good luck and happy shooting!
