    Default Wounded officer shoots back.

Man, this guy is either really lucky, or really good! Imagine being shot, returning a single shot to a moving vehicle and getting the little ba______ in the face.

KOB.com - Albuquerque officer wounded in drive-by shooting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - An Albuquerque police officer has been wounded in a drive-by shooting early Wednesday in Northwest Albuquerque.

The police department said officers were sent to an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Indian School Road Northeast on a domestic dispute call.

As officers were conducting their investigation, a vehicle passing by in the parking lot opened fire.

One officer was hit in the leg.

The officer managed to fire off a round at the fleeing vehicle.

The vehicle was later stopped near the scene by other officers. Three men were taken into custody including one man with a gunshot wound to the face.

The wounded officer was taken to Presbyterian Hospital. The male suspect was transported to University of New Mexico Hospital for his injuries. Both are in stable condition.

Man that is pretty brazen to open fire on several uniformed LEO's in a drive by. Smacks of suicide by cop menthality!
Conflict is inevitable, combat is a choice!

The message here is what I taught my people for years. Do not give up. That is one reason why I hated officers or CCW Permitees, talking about movies or what gun the guy used in this movie and he blew this guy away, or whatever. We tend to absorb a mentality of what we see. We are educated by the movies we watch, whether we believe that or not. A steady diet of movie shootings will get you killed. Especially when the good or bad guy gets shot and immediately dies or gets blown through a window 10 feet behind him. They are educating you that when you get shot, you fall down dead. It's over. Or when you do shoot, you don't get the reaction you expected. Gee, that guy didn't fly backwards did he?

I prefer to teach that all gunshot wounds will be an injury. Some will be fatal. Your determination to live and continue to fight, will determine that outcome. Most LEO's and CCW's will survive a shooting. Determine in your mind that you will not stop fighting until you have defeated your adversary. Get angry if you get shot. Get so pissed off that you can't be stopped, until your enemy is defeated or your heart and brain stop functioning and you go unconcious. Defeat your opponent, and LIVE through the situation.

When you train, practice shooting while you are sitting on the ground, lying on the ground, or your arm or leg is disabled. Shoot with a patch over you dominant eye, your other one may be injured. Just DON'T GIVE UP!!! AND...... assume that your adversary won't give up either, until he has been totally disabled and unable to fight back.

It doesn't specify that the gunshot wound was caused by the officer's gun. What makes you think the bas....s were smart enough to keep from shooting each other? <-- (jesting here)

Too bad all three bg's in the truck didn't get shot. This has got to stop... when are we going to separate the criminals from the guns? .... by keeping the criminals locked up or at least make prison such a horrible place that nobody wants to go back there under any circumstances. The liberals have turned the prisons into resorts and let the criminals out early giving the criminals absolutely no incentive to reform. But their answer is to take away our guns that we can use to defend ourselves against the criminals they let out of prison.

LOL! I thought the same thing initially *to the comment above in bold* but the news article says..

Officer Eric Martinez was shot twice in one leg, and once in the other.

Officer Martinez shot back at the truck, hitting 22-year-old John Santiago in the face.
Ever seen escape from L.A? lol
