    Default Rock Island Armory 1911

Hi all I just bought this pistol Rock Island Armory 1911 man is it nice gun I got a good deal it was used but looks like new I got this and I got a nice little .38 revolver for my wife to have in the car.
$650.00 for both w/taxes both used but in real nice shape with carry case and clip (for the .5)
I wanted a 1911 model gun but I didn't want to spend $1000.00 or more so I got this and man is it nice
I can't wait to take it out and fire it. I do have a question I have been looking for holster for it and all
the places I have been do not list this weapon so would a colt 1911 holster be the same or any or big name brand be the same?
    thanks
    Clayton

    it is a M1911 A1 45ACP

    Default Holster for RI

Yeah, you can just get a "Colt" 1911 holster. Any full size 1911 holster will do. Looks like a real nice weapon. I have a Springfield 1911 and a Colt "New Agent", love them both. Can't go wrong with a 1911...

    Thanks all..
years ago I carried the army .45 1911 when I was in the army
and when I got out I bought a Llama .45 (not sure on the spelling) but I sold that.
I wanted another 1911 model 45 but did not have the big bucks.
I have the Taurus PT145 and a High point .45 but I really like 1911's

I've owned both the RIA M1911 A1 and RIA Tactical 5" for some time now.

They've been reliable with other magazines than the ACT's that come with them. CMC Power 8's run well in them, but the Wilson Combats alway's gave them a type III double feed malfunction in every mag.

I've used the M1911A1 as a "work it" pistol. I've finally taken a 1911 down to it's bare bones rather than use a $1500 1911 to make a mistake on.

First thing I did was scrap the grips. I purchased the VZ "Operator" G10's and it spiced up the pistol a bit. Those grips are worth every penny of the $65 for their quality.

These are certainly no Springfield "Operator" or "TRP" series pistols but for the price you shouldn't be disappointed with it.

    Hi!
I have a RI 1911 also. They are great guns. I bought an crossbread holster for it for concealed carry. Very nice holster, there is no hammer bite in my side. But the gun is too heavy CCW. I ended up buying the lightweight Kahr CW9. So I like shooting both of these. Accurate, reliable, dependable, and lets not forget affordable.

    to all,

the RIA 1911A1 clone is made in the Philippines on US government surplused equipment.

fyi, my lady's 26YO son has the FULL-size one for CCW & i cannot tell the difference in his (functionally) from the numerous 1911s that i carried for years in the USA MPs, EXCEPT that the STOCK trigger pull on his is BETTER than Army 45s.

    NICE piece for the $$$.

I recently bought the "full size" RIA 1911. Fell in love after the first mag was emptied! Can't beat them for the price! Now trying to decide if I want to attempt to carry it or get something smaller for concealment.

Carry mine almost every day. Crossbreed ST and a very good belt. 2 mags opposite side to balance. When I first put it on, I thought it was heavy. Now it is no big deal.
