    Default Ammo bad?

I just got 4 boxes of .380 from my father but am a little concerned because it was bought at a yard sale a LONG time ago. Is there a way to tell if ammo is no good to shoot or if it is reloaded ammo?

    Exclamation look for corrosion

if it is not corrode and the boxes are not water damaged or have oily spots it is probably fine...however if it is too old it may be corrosive...clean thouruoghly after shooting...I would not carry it unless it was my last resort

+1 festus. I will only add that if it works at the range, maybe you could use it for training at the range, but not for carrying.

I was not going to carry it, only range shooting with it. I just wanted to make sure it was safe to use at the range. I don't want to damage my gun or hurt me or someone else just to save a few bucks.

yes, but it is a very complex and involved process.
Please send me your ammo for testing. I will publish the results here, and send you a private message.

    Seriously,
Compare the old ammo with a new round. If it looks distorted, don't shoot it.

I have ammo that is 50 yo. I bet a years paycheck it will work just fine.
