How much ammo do you carry.

I carry what the 1911 holds.
One clip in the car.
I do not carry anything else.
My 1911 will not fail me when called on.

The 1911 series of pistols do not use clips to load or feed ammunition, they use a detachable magazine. As far as I know, the only semi-auto pistol that used clips to load ammo was the Mauser Broomhandle, a WWI era pistol.

Depends on the holster when I CC my 1911. Shoulder, +2 extra. SOB 1 spare. If I carry my wheel, I don't normally carry any spare rounds. Kind of troubling now I think about it. Not sure if I really want to carry a speed loader. TOO much girth, not flat enough for much concealment. Probably will stick to my 1911 for now.

You could use speed strips for that wheelie.

Speedstrips (Bianchi) or Quickstrips (Tuff) are slim and fit in a pocket or carrier.

If you are expecting a fire fight, carry an M4.

After 30 years of carrying concealed, I have only 9 Golden Saber 185+P in my 1911 .45
and I believe it will fire perfectly everytime.

TIME will not allow you to dispatch more than 2-3 assailants with their weapons drawn. In which case we are back to an M4 scenerio.
If your semi-auto fails, You ARE dead. Don't think that you will reload.
