I have had a 1911 for years but even in a pawn shop they are going for 1500 plus. I have two S&W Tac 45's and they are great weapons for shooting and I carry this weapon at all times on my body. My bride carries an S&W Shorty forty and this weapon has a fairly nice kick for my wife. She recently bought the Bodyguard S&W 380 with the lazer sight. That is one great weapon and she loves it but again I am also next to her where ever she goes as I am now retired. If you have gun shows in your area, hit them, go to a range and see if they will rent you one before you buy. Try your pawn shops and even hit some gun shops on the puter. Cheaper then dirt is one company and need to use Google.

Anyone know how much an average 1911 would cost? Im looking into getting one, but the cheapest I can seem to find is roughly 800-1500.00 I already carry the M&P 40 but would like a second option.

Any suggestions as to where I could get a cheaper one here in Michigan?

i have seen them from 1300,some times you can find them cheaper,but they are worth every dime. as far as in michigan i dont know sorry im in florida

Very south end of Florida sees them from $700 and up. Mostly the up.
