Nickel as a gun finish? Does it hold up? Chipping?

Hey man I had a stainless and I loved it, I also had my colt nickel plated, but it does chip a lot. So I opted to Cerakote it and it stands up real good.

You can also use Robar and finish it with NP3...that this is hard as a diamond.

I have S&W mod 19 in nickel with a pinned barrel, never chipped and it was my carry for years. I have a Colt Gov't 380 thats nickel and other then holster wear no chips. Both are factory jobs. I still carry the Colt.
