If that was all I had. I carried a NAA .22 mag derringer until I bought my glock.
Would you carry a 22LR as a ccw?![]()

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
...Jesus Christ and the American G.I.
One died for your sins; the other for your freedom.
Absolutely, the best gun to have in a fight is the one you have with you. No handgun is a man stopper (outside of a SW 500).
A well placed .22 shot will stop a threat immediately.
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
Yes if I do not have my .40 with me...

+1 / I would carry it if that is what I have availableOriginally Posted by obxfshr:228111
Your prompt reminds me of the saying "the best gun for self defense is the one your have in your hand". It goes something to that effect. But yeah, I'd rather have a 22 than nothing.

Me i would absolutely carry a .22lr for ccw, as long as i was using the most effective .22lr rounds available. They are more effective then the .25acp. But the biggest thing to realize is that those shots need to be upper chest, neck and head. Train with it and be confident with what you carry.
Nope.
I don't trust a rimfire. I've had far too many that didn't go off the first time over the years.
