They are a great bargain. Sure they aren't up to the standards of a Colt or S&W, but they are a lot better than carrying nothing when your budget isn't up to the premium brands.

What do people think about Charter Arms? Do they have a good reputation for making quality guns or not? Just want to know what people think and especially if anyone has any personal experience with them.

My daughter has a Pink Lady and I have a Southpaw. Both have hundreds of rounds through it with no problem.
I use it as a carry pistol from time to time.
I had a 38 special revolver that was made by Charter Arms. It had a 2 inch barrel and was easy to conceal. MOST importantly it went BANG every time I pulled the trigger. I had no trouble with it. True it was a 'plain jane' gun but it was a good carry gun. For those of us on a limited income it is perfect.
I do not own a charter firearm. From people that have them I have not heard any
Thing bad about them.
We get them in the shop from time to time. A little cheaper than the late model smiths we get but they look good and nobody ever complains. I chose my sw mod 36 over the newer charter piece we had but I collect the old smiths. They are solid for tbe price...
They're good guns and good for the price.

If we don't want to live in a trashy area, we all have to be willing to help pick up the trash.
In the 1970's I owned a .44 Bulldog that was a great gun.
To my regret, I sold it.
I now own a stainless Bulldog that is less than a good gun.
I have had to return it to the factory 3 times for repairs.
This last time was strike three. I will no longer carry it.
It does not stand up to use. If I carry a gun, I practice
with it. This Bulldog can not take being fired much.
It seems to be one of those guns that was designed to be
carried a lot but fired little.
I switched from a semi-auto that was giving me trouble to
this revolver, hoping it would be trouble-free. It wasn't.
So, I'll go back to a .45auto.
Maybe you'll get lucky. I didn't.
The Second Amendment is NOT about hunting!
Their .327 Fed Mag is something I've had my eye on for awhile now and I'm glass to hear there aren't too many or too major a complaint. My Sccy was similar, it seemed to be 60-40 split on those who liked it versus those who said it'd blow up in the firer's hand, 500rds with no FTF, FTE AND it shoots any 9mm I give it.
Decided against it ~
