A judge decides whether you get a permit or not.
The only person I know that got a permit was a jeweler whose store was robbed twice.
Yet, according to the USA Carry map, my AZ permit is recognized by DE. Doesn't seem right does it?

Forget about NJ. I lived there for 46 yrs and you will NOT get a CCW. If you get caught with a gun in your possession you will go to jail. They do not issue CCW's and will not recognize any other states CCW.

That's why I am getting an Arizona permit too. Sometimes states make specific reciprocity agreements with each other, even when their laws are dissimilar. Pennsylvania and Maine just did that. I was hoping for Pennsylvania and Delaware to do the same, but they have not done so. Hence the Arizona option...

PA by all means! Stay out of NJ if at all possible. NJ doesnt even allow hollow points.

Not meaning to hi-jack the op's thread but, according to the AZDPS CCW unit DE recognizes an AZ permit without written agreement. I've been able to avoid NJ, but unable to avoid NY. I still have family there. As for the other states that don't recognize my permit, I've had no reason to go there. PA sounds like the OP's best bet.

Yes. I have heard far more horror stories of people being stopped and arrested in New Jersey for what the gun owner thought was a legal transportation of firearms, under the Federal statute. Apparently New Jersey's gun laws are so vague that a loaded magazine can be considered a loaded weapon.
