Default Police Aim to Crack Down on Violent New Trend, 'Knock Out'

St. Louis makes national news -- white folks had better carry a gun [and use it] when out in St. Louis (day or night!)

    From a peaceful MO. resident....

Yeah I am sure the police really plan on a crack down...NOT!! The cops could care less about private citizens. Trust me carry a handgun and if you feel your life or family member is in real danger. Draw and shoot to kill and don't stop shooting till the threat is no longer.

So if they do it to look tough, what would happen if they charged me and I blew his nuts all over the street?

Situational awareness may be better than a handgun in these situations, especially if your carry gun is a little pocket gun. The article says that one beating was done by a group of 12 people. Dont walk on dimly lit streets late at night, and dont walk by large groups of thugs, etc.

Group of 12 thugs attacking me for no reason ~versus~ my Glock 27 -w- 9 rounds locked 'n' loaded + an additional backup magazine with 12-13 additional rounds...Hmmmm...Let me think...(Take out the first two attackers then watch the rest of them scatter.)
    I like my odds! :)

I agree you shoot a few quickly and only a stupid fool sticks around to see if they also get shot. I read this in a gun Mag a long time ago in the 60s when they had the riot in L.A.
He had a 9mm when he was attacked he shot three thugs quickly in their legs, the rest took off and he went quickly on his way.
He said just shoot a few and then get moving. I thought great advice.

The race part come in when you view the videos that have been posted.

The race part comes in when you race for the gun.

But I can see the scenario now. Gun owner walking to grocery store encounters a group of teens that suddenly charge toward said gun owner. Gun owner has the thought of these random attacks in the back of his mind so he reacts before they have the chance to jump said gun owner. Gun owners reaction time and aim are good enough to fatally drop 1 and the others run for their lives.

However, this group of kids run to the police and tell their story. They were all members of some club and were out for a walk/run and when they ran towards this guy on the street, all too late they discovered he was nut with a gun and he just started shooting. He killed poor Freddy!

As citizens, we are put into some very bad position if we choose to fight back or even worse if we decide to fight first. As gun owners and concealed carriers we have even more responsibility to make sure we get it right otherwise we ar the ones that land behind bars.

And I say concealed carrier because not too many thrill seeking gaggle of kids are going to swarm someone with a 1911 on their hip. At least I don't think they would. You never know with the idiots our schools are producing, but that for another thread.

Keep your head on a swivel. Avoid situations that don't feel good. Like it was said... situational awareness is the better percentage of keeping your butt out of a bad situation. I have no problem with crossing to the other side of the street or taking a different street to avoid a large gathering of youth to avoid the possibility of confrontation. Plus it's a good discovery tactic. Cross the street. If they follow, then I go on high alert.

IMHO of course! I can hear the macho arguments coming now. ;-0

Another good reason for citizens to arm themselves. We live in trouble times where the value of human life means nothing to some. Its not a race issue, it goes across the board. I refuse to be a willing victim! !!
