wifes first gun So just brought home the wifes first handgun tonight for a late xmas present. I ts the walther p22, she def. Likes it. I got her shooting this past summer. She like shooting my single action six, but not the 5906. So i figured i would start her with the p22 and once she is more comfortable she can move to a 38. Anyway just posting to say YaY one more gun in the house and a postive the wife is becoming interested.

On channel 2 news last night there was a segment about a local Sherrif who is encouraging women to arm themselves. He was encouraging them to get their CWP and training. ATP has training for girls on Tuesday nights and my wife seems a bit more interested. I am hoping she will get her CWP and start carrying a weapon of some sort in her purse.

My wife did not like shooting my p225, so I got her a s&w 620 .357 mag. She loves it!...I guess I married a revolver girl.
Ty all im sure she will enjoy it. And it is the pink one too make her even more happy. I plan on going and getting ccw soon this new year, but will have to be for MO due to I live in the worst state in this country IL, but i do live 10 minutes from the bridge into St.Louis so Iam close. Although I have not messed with it too much but I did notice eve with the safety on you are still able to pull the trigger and the hammer still comes down, but did look and see the hammer does not make contact with the safety on. Thought was a little different.
Fun gun, but some considerations for you. I have had a Walther p22 for many years now, and let me say that it is a fun gun to shoot! But a couple years ago, while out shooting, the hammer spring snapped and would no longer function. This was a cheap fix, but I didn't know enough about the gun to fix it myself. I have heard of others having the same problem as well.
Another thing is that my p22 does not like to he dirty. I have to thoroughly clean it after each shoot, especially the feed ramp where the bullet slides into the chamber/barrel. If the feed ramp is not clean, the gun jams every other trigger pull. This may partly be from the ammo. .22 ammo is often one of the dirtiest small arms cartridges out there. You may want to avoid the real cheap .22 ammo and spend a few more cents on higher grade rounds.
All in all, I love my p22! It's fun to shoot and looks cool too!
