    Default Anderson County's Loss

The previous sheriff of Anderson County passed away this morning (David Crenshaw).

David went to work with EMS when he lost his reelection effort. He responded to an auto accident and was working with a couple of victims when he passed away from a heart attack.

    David was a great guy.

Please add him and his Family to your prayers tonight.

PENDLETON — A big man with a heart that matched his stature, former Anderson County Sheriff David Crenshaw, a firefighter for 50 years, lawman for more than three decades and county magistrate in the 1990s, collapsed and died of a heart attack Monday while responding to a call to help others.“David was a career public safety servant,” said Greg Shore, Anderson County coroner. “He went on a fire call today. He was doing what he enjoyed doing most when he collapsed. He was always there to help.”Crenshaw, 63, died of a sudden heart attack, Shore said. Crenshaw collapsed during a call on State 88 to a motor vehicle accident with injuries and was pronounced dead-on arrival at AnMed Health Medical Center at 7:55 a.m., the coroner said.
