EVERETT, Wash. -- A suspected burglar was shot dead by a homeowner inside an Everett home Monday.

Snohomish County Sheriff's deputies said the burglar broke into the house on the 10500 block of 21st Avenue Southeast at 11:45 a.m., believing no one was home at the time. The suspect was confronted by the homeowner, who was armed, and after a confrontation, deputies said the suspect was shot and killed.

A number of recent burglaries in Snohomish and King counties have occurred during the daytime.

Deputies said it is possible the home where the incident occurred was targeted because there was no car in the driveway and a newspaper in the lawn, appearing to be empty.

This is not too far from where I live. There has been a high number of burglaries and car prowls in the un-incorporated areas of Snohomish County. I suspect that those numbers will diminish for awhile...until the next culling! :)

No word about whether or not the homeowner was injured at all. Hope not. "And another one bites the Dust". This is another example of being prepared.

Justice "should" be served at the time of the injustice. It should be swift and final... Painful is an option..

You have to protect your home because you work to damn hard to get it. You pay your morgage, insurance taxes and then some numb nut going to break in and help himself to your hard earn goods!! Thats insane! You those signs that people put in their windows "BEWARE OF DOG"?? I'm tempted, I haven't done it but I'm tempted to have a sign made that says "DAMN THE DOG, BEWARE OF THE MAN WITH THE GUN"!!!
I will look towards the hills from whense cometh my help. All my help cometh from the Lord.
