I buy a case of 9mm every month.I bought 14,000 in 2011.They'd only find about 1200.I didn't kill 12,800 people.
I would expect a court to be interested in having hundreds of rounds on you at the time of a shooting, but wouldn't think the jury would really be influenced by how many rounds you have at home, especially with anything above a competent defense atty.
I am very low on ammo right now. I wish i had the money to stock up. I don't even have enough to go out shooting, let alone "stocked up" quantities.

Several thousand rounds. .22 .380 .38 .357 9mm .40 .44 .45 .223 7.62x39 shotgun rounds. A pretty good mix. I have a cabinet just for all the extra ammo... But that's not what I carry on me.
Do I have intent to do someone harm... Only if they intend to harm me.
Be safe.
One of my biggest pet peeves is running out of ammo. I hate going downstairs to pack for a practice or competition and find hardly any ammo. It's happened more than i'd like to admit. so a good supply makes me happy.
in high school i used to practice/compete in some shooting event every day. pistol (IPSC + IDPA) High power and military rifle shoots (CMP), shotgun (trap and skeet) and .22 and air rifle in JROTC. we used practice 22 and air rifle twice a day. i was at the store buying rounds, reloading supplies and reloading at least once a week... i kinda miss those days
I like to try to buy a box for every firearm, every payday. Usually I do but not always. If you asked me how much I have my answer would be, "just about enough".
