Here is thre basis of the idea. Website is below.
"Designed for the homeowner who wants a firearm for home protection, but needs to restrict any unauthorized access to the firearm. The Defender is a built around a 12 Gauge pump shotgun. When the defender's 4 digit combination lock is engaged, it prohibits access to any portion of the gun (as seen on the left). When the access code is imputed into the lock pad, the Defender instantly deploys into a home defense 12 gauge shotgun (as seen on the right). Though the Defender has a Pat. Pending, clearly it is still in the prototype phase... "

I have a Nerf gun that looks like that. What real need does this fill? Who needs to carry a disguised, locked SHOTGUN around?
For portable hidden defense, a concealed handgun makes way more sense; for fixed-location defense, a shotgun in a conventional safe makes sense.
The ONLY way this makes sense to me is for people who live in no-open carry/near-impossible concealed carry states as a car gun. (That is permanently "in transit".)
Google "Parabelium Armament Co Patent Pending". There is a long list of links to some pretty zany firearms ideas.
Sadly. Its real.
It is being made for the idea that you have kids around the house and need a gun that is not a gun until you need a gun. (Doesn't make since to me you either need a gun or not.)
It is designed to look like a suit case until you put in your own combo then it will "pop" out to this futuristic looking 12 gauge.
And, if you want to have backup safety just put one of these as the first round in your "Defender":
Ultimate Gun Safety Device- fast- easy- inexpensive
There are some people out there who will buy anything. Just look at who we have for a President.
I think it's for deer hunting.
Did you ever notice that when you were just hiking without a gun, you can usually see deer in the deer woods, but when ever it's hunting season and you have a gun, they are nowhere around?
That's becaue the deer can see your gun.
With this new innovative invention, the deer have no clue.

Damn if you converted all your rounds to this, Brady has won. I have a bridge in AZ I would like to sell you.
Fanatics of any sort are dangerous! -GG-
Which part of "... shall NOT be infringed..." confuses you?
Well now, aren't WE a pair, Raggedy Man? (Thunderdome)
If I had kids around the house or whatever reason I would do no different than I do now. I keep Two loaded firearms on my person. If I am in bed or undressed they are next to me on a table or counter.
