INDIANAPOLIS -- Police in Indianapolis said someone broke into an unmarked police car and stole two handguns and other police equipment.
The Indianapolis Star reported that Sgt. David Durant said his car's right rear-door window was smashed about 10:30 a.m. Thursday while he was inside a business downtown.
A police report said the stolen items included a military-style bag containing a 40-caliber handgun with three magazines, a flashlight, a police badge, handcuffs and a protective vest.
Also taken was a gym bag containing a 9 mm pistol, a holster, a police identification card and another police badge.

The story was that cars were being marked at shooting matches, not that stupid cops leave stuff in their cars and get it stolen.

As per Snoops, a.k.a. Urban Legends, quoted with a NRA note it is false. Just check that site and google the term, as per others on this post, I have yet to see this in a major media.

I call BS on this. Sounds like another one of those Internet Hoaxes. Any legitimate notice is usually accompanied with links, source and contact information.

.....I contacted the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the San Antonio Police Department, the Corpus Christi Police Department and Royce Graff, director of the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio.

By all accounts, nothing in the email is accurate. No truth whatsoever, according to Matthew Porter at the San Antonio P.D. and Martin Meachum at the sheriff's office. Corpus Christi police pointed me to a report by the myth-buster website Snopes.com, which confirms this is a hoax that has been circulating since December.

Graff denounced and debunked the hoax and said the reference indicating the San Antonio sheriff spoke to a group of competitors at the shooting complex simply did not happen......

    Default tagging Gun Owners

I cant get onto thread to see what the contents are? CCW is one way to know exactly who owns firearms...the problem is we are all Law Abiding Citizens. There is no way to put a number on how many Hoodlums have illegally obtained their weapons?

    Default love Texas

Lived in San Antonio and el paso for a few years and love Texas. I would count this as destruction of property. Sounds like good hunting.

Park a car with fun stickers on it at a gun shop and just hang out for a while, frequently go to the trunk and mess with something ( take empty cases in and out). One day when you get that lovely mark go park it in a mall parking lot right before the mall closes the the lot will be pretty empty and walk In the mall but jump in a buddy's car and drive to a good vantage point with a .308... Sort of like deer hunting but with criminals. Legal as far as I can tell because you are protecting your property.

Because the events in the emails didn't happen. And your link is to a Colorado training web site that has no relation to this topic. Presumably you are just using this forum for advertising.
