I wouldn't worry about it as long as you take safety precautions. I carry with a round chambered all the time.

I carry my "FIREARMS" with a round in the chamber. That being said I have met a lot of people who don't feel comfortable with one in the chamber. For these people I teach them the Israeli carry method. Look it up on you tube. IMO its the best way for those not comfortable carrying a "HANDGUN" with a round in the chamber.
My career in LE started when the six gun was the norm. I had a couple semis' for off duty but they were finicky at best. I have since changed my position and carry semis' most of the time. I DO have a M&P 340 that travels with me often though. You have to be aware of what you're carrying at all times. All my handguns serve me well and I do switch often.
