A lot of you are too close to this argument in that you are making emotion-based replies just to attack him based on his felon label. Are you a child? Two wrongs don't make a right. If he's joked about your name once does that mean you have to pay it back 10-fold? Something says even if he makes valid point you will continue to attack him just because you don't like him. Nobody is perfect, nor is the justice system. Many-a-times someone is in the wrong place at the wrong time. How many times have we heard in these forums of an old man with CHL not want to bother to disarm for post offices or whatever? Does he deserve to forever be stripped of his rights because he is now a felon for carrying on a federal premise? I haven't be on these gun forums in a while but from years ago I am aware of videos on these sites that show when police will dig up technicalities to make the biggest possible charge stick. Police are intimidating to me, even in traffic ticket situations. I won't pretend to know how things went down for the OP, but he is most definitely entitled to speak his mind without getting replies like "walk in a police station armed". What kind of advice is this?? I know someone who has made a mistake on school property and is now a felon but he cried and learned from his mistake and I have yet to see him be undeserving of defending himself as any of the rest of us. (edit to add that this "friend" isnt me, as i am a proud CHL carrying citizen) AccidentalFelon seems to have a sound mind in my opinion. However, I must say that I don't think AF should carry on his person anymore just so that you don't make matters worse. You might look into secondary defenses, like pepper spray, stun guns, big dogs, alarms systems, fences/gates, lighting, ect

Continue to fight for your rights and make it happen! Get signatures or whatever and go about it the way the system asks so that you gain enough credibility to make an impact.

There are enough problems with your post to show you THINK you know this conversation from the start. You dont, so thanks for you opinion, but I will pass. It is great you would choose to help convicted felons that intentionally break the law, I just don't know what it is great for.

Thanks for going easy on me I guess. I'm not exactly supporting felons in general, I just think sometimes it should be case by case as to make sure we aren't disarming everyone who makes a mistake. Convictions aren't always right. (Murderers can cheat the system and get free, just like innocents can get wrongly imprisoned) I never write off anyone just because of a label. Cops aren't perfect either. They listen to everyone and make the call the best they can, but there is always room for error. I think people get offended and scared a little easy to so that doesn't help his case. I just saw someone reaching out and then others attacking him with terrible advice. Otherwise, great forum and love reading through all of ya'lls posts!
