I voted McCain and I take myself to the wood shed every morning for a beating. What was I thinkin? At least if I had voted for Barry I would have know we would get a Marxist/Socialist/communist/anti-capitolist that is like a chanker sore on our Rebublic.

So why did rdm not say so if that is what he meant? This was one of those creepy threads where you wonder what kind of people are walking around CC---somehow they are in some kind of fog that all of us are suppose to understand.

Ability, Opportunity, Jeopardy could also apply to automobiles. Am I correct Mr. Kennedy?

He just mentioned the 3 prerequisites that must be present to back one's claim that they felt threatened and in fear of their life or great bodily harm and the actions that may have been necessary to counter this.

I thought this was a nice thought provoking way of pointing out something important without preaching.
In any event with just 3 words he is getting a lot of response. Even better, I bet some here that share our common interest learned something or at least reenforced an important element in carrying and the use of deadly force.

However, there is much contention around the "jeopardy" part. Some people on this forum do not consider a firearm in the hands of a person committing a criminal act to be "jeopardizing".

They will quickly change their mind if they encounter such a situation. If not I fully expect them go about their business without taking cover, as though nothing unusual is happening!
