Now Aldi should think twice about having that stupid sign. Although it might take sometime because actually Aldi is a German-based company. Perhaps the franchise will have to ask permission from the head office...

Seen this posted elsewhere, unarmed security () apparently did little to deter our

robbers and a poorly placed sign obviously did little to deter

    our concealed carrier, good shoot.

Wow, That is one of the first news reports I have seen along this subject that did not seem biased or anti-gun... Good for the reporters and the news station...
From what info is given, it looks to be a clear case of defending the innocent... Whether or not the CC person gets charged for being armed in a no-gun zone is still being decided. In my opinion (and I know nothing of WI laws) I dont think he should be....

Unfortunately there is not too much to discuss here. Anyone who tries to say the shooter was in the right or in the wrong is drawing conclusions based on a short article about an event in which they did not witness.

Only thing to discuss is the effectiveness of the anti-gun sign. I give it an F-.

I did notice that most of the comments on the news story were pro-self-protection. We'll see which direction the comments on this forum swing.

That hasn't deterred very many people on this forum from jumping right in before....usually against the gun carrying citizen.

I think if a robber comes in with a gun of any kind he deserves to be shot dead instantly. You can never say when he will simply pull the trigger and off someone. I only need to know that they were robbing the joint and he had a shot gun. He's done in my opinion. Seems pretty clear cut. The sign is irrelevant to me because at best he was a trespasser and not a business invitee.

I agree with you. All we can do is sit back and watch the "experts" weigh in.

That's true. For all we know, the guy was a mall ninja itching to shoot someone when the situation didn't warrant it. Now, I kinda doubt that, and I'm pretty sure he did the right thing here, but some input from the witnesses would have been a valuable addition to the story.

    Bravo for the concealed carrier!
In Texas, if it isn't a 'properly posted' 30.06 sign, then the sign does not mean anything.
Gee, maybe the armed robbers couldn't actually understand what that sign meant??
