Thumbs up BG-380...Simply Awesome! An excellent choice....

I don't believe they passed Kalifornia regs, but this is a tremendous little weapon, if you can get one anywhere else! S&W took what was wrong with all the recent .380's, made it right, and added a laser to boot. Fun, sexy, solid, relable and accurate. I'm not normally a .380 fan, but this piece goes with me EVERYWHERE...it's just too easy and comfortable not to. Get one!

They will not oK the lazer version at this time.
I do carry a Bodyguard 380 as a ccw. Works really well.

I haven't seen the .380 without the laser, Smith hasn't made a CA Compliant Bodyguard in .380, the only State Complaint pistol they make is the MA Bodyguard .38 with a 10 pound trigger pull.

Curious as to what was wrong with all the other 380's? Specifically khar p380, Sig p238, and lcp....

Hah true. But I was referring to the posters thoughts as to why the BG 380 was better than the others, not Commiefornias delusions. :)

    Default BodyGaurd 380

Check the Mag capacity? A lot of manufactuer's have CA compliant firearms for you. CA just tries their best to give you the run around so you give up, dont. I will even look with my distributor to find out for you. My number is 620 238 0437...Kelevra Tactical,Inc. Just give me a call tomorrow

In answer to your question, and this is just one man's opinion....Kahr's .380 is a handful to shoot, requiring seemingly constant hand repositioning to maintain a secure hold, not to mention very overpriced. Sig, I'll admit is an excellent weapon, and quality wise, has everyone beat, hands down.....However I believe that "pocket rockets should be DAO for safety and speed, and as for Ruger...nice try at copying the Kel-Tec, but they have failed MISERABLY at quality since Bill died, and Corporate took over. All I'm saying, is that, feature for feature, S&W nailed it in ergonomics, design, controllability, reliability, shootability, accuracy, safety, material quality and fit & finish, and installed factory features found only on expensive full sized guns, in a one-time-purchase package ( no accessories needed)and all at a price which is well within reach of the average working Joe. What was wrong with the others------none of them has accomplished all this in one affordable package yet, until S&W did it. Good weapons have good features. Excellent weapons have everything you could ever want on them at an affordable price. And that to me is where the others fell short......not trying to be a gun snob, just a hyper-pragmatic old Scottish curmudgeon who likes things simple, like the old days............... Thanks, Angus
