    Default doomsday preppers?

Who has seen this nat geo program? I was not impressed with the few examples I have seen so far. I,admittedly, am not very well prepared for a doomsday scenario. If I were to prep for such an event, I feel like I could do a heck of a lot better than these folks. What do you all think about #1 a doomsday scenario & #2 what are your preparations for such an event if you are invested in the prospect of that happening?

One fellow shot himself in the thumb in last nights episode. If you want to survive, learn how to handle a firearm safely. Money is tight, I think I'll just bug in.

Whatever happens will happen and not much you can do to change it but it's nice to be prepared for any scenario especially an economic collapse where food will be in short supply. We cannot expect the govt to be very organized, dependable or care about your well being. We are living in interesting times and storms, quakes and volcanic action will be more numerous and violent, world economy is failing, a possible pandemic could arise etc. I do believe when the SHTF people will come together to help one another through tough times.

I've seen snippets of the show. I must say that some of their stuff is pretty cool although a few of the people come accross as idiots.

Because of the hurricane threat, just about everyone here has a bug-out plan. At the start of every hurricane season I make sure I have enough bottled water and non-perishable food for a week, propane for my grill, gas for my generator (20-25 gal.), batteries, and of course I always have plenty of guns and ammo

Thanks a lot. I DVR'd the show last night and was just going to watch it. Guess that part won't be a surprise. LOL.

I can't help but wonder if the Network and Producers help to make them appear as idiots. Kind of like they do on the Axe Men show on History. When the Smith boys (axe Men) didn't latch the trailer down on the ball of the hitch correctly. They positioned at least 4 cameras around the seen of the trailer coming off. Yet the Smiths were supposedly unaware on it happening. I still watch it though.
