First gun i purchased was a Hi-point 9. For a first gun it was fine. I put well over 2000 rounds without and cleaning. Not a single with the gun. After putting 2000 rounds there it i tore it down to find minimal wear. I sold it shortly afterwards. Good first guns despite what people say.

If you want to use it as a hammer, I could live with that. lol

Shot a friends with 9mm reloads... After about 5000 rounds through it the ejector not only ejected the case, but ripped off part of the firing chamber. Thankfully there was some metal left and we avoided the gun blowing up... But for the $75.00 he paid for it I'll say he got his money's worth....

Hi-Points and Jennings are like ugly girlfriends. Most people have had at least one but never admit it. They are fun to play with but you never take them out or show them to your friends. Like when all the hot chicks have gone home with other dudes, they are a last resort.

I like my Hi-Point .45, and will be buying a 9mm soon. I did a lot of research on forums prior to buying one - the price thing, you know. But what I found was that most people who hated them had never owned one and very few had ever shot one. People who liked Hi-Points were generally owners, and not one ever mentioned selling his. Just try to buy a used one, and see how hard you have to look to find one, compared to other brands.

Never had a problem with a 9 mm (C-9) or the carbine (995TS). Both are inexpensive and fun to shoot. My primary is a S&W M&P .45.

Really like the 995ts carbine. Goes bang everytime and accurate.

I have a 995 carbine that I carry on my tractor for pigs, skunks, coyotes. It is very accurate and very dependable and seems to like any ammo I put through it, which is mostly the cheap Russian-made stuff. My neighbor has a 995 carbine and a .40 pistol and shoots them more than he does the other 44 guns he owns. Yes, I would trust my life to them; no I would not conceal carry them - too big and blocky and heavy. And every Hi-Point has a lifetime warranty that follows the gun forever, no matter how many times it is sold.

I have a High Point .40 and I like it! I bought it on a whim recently at a gun show. From perusing all of the forums I expected some problems during the break in period such as FF's and FE's. Strangely though the first 100 rounds were error free and I thought I had escaped the curse. Foolish me....the next 150 rounds were rife with nose dives, stove pipes and various other sundry malfunctions. I should have guessed from the insert included by Hi Point in the box that I should have performed the mag lip adjustment prior to firing the weapon but I am one of those that feel that if you pay for something, it should work out of the box without user mechanical input....WRONG...har...har! I also witnessed numerous uTube videos instructing you take the paint off of the feed ramp (although for the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would put rough paint on a surface that a cartridge was supposed to slide upon).

After yesterday's sad performance at the range I decided to do these 2 changes and see if this solves my dilemma. Aside from the feed problems I have found the pistol to be very accurate and the recoil minimal due to the weight of the gun. If I get this pistol working reliably it will sit on my nightstand to wait for uninvited guests. 🌅
