I answered this question years ago, when I started carrying. If I save my life and my loved ones, it is worth what ever happens in the after math.

Sad to say but yes, you could loose your permit...

But why would you possibly want to patronize a business that wants to deprive you of your right to self-defense. As responsible firearms owners and CCW licensees, we should actively boycott such businesses.

What did Aurora, Ft Hood, Columbine, and Virgina Tech all have in common???

All were "Gun Free Zones"... In all cases the gunmen knew there would be no armed opposition...

Yes, sad to say but even our military bases here in the US are gun free zones... It seems that our Govt trust us enough to die in foreign lands, but not enough to carry on our own bases at home for self defense... A situation that I'm sure the Israeli military finds inconceivable...

And one last thought... I personally absolutely REFUSE to patronize businesses that want to deprive me of my right to self defense. It's as if those businesses put up a a sign that said "Unarmed Victims Here!"

We MUST stand together and vote with our wallets against these absurd policies. It's not as if some criminal or deranged individual intent on doing harm will be deterred by a sign that says "No Guns Allowed". How absolutely absurd! It has been illegal to randomly shoot people since before guns were invented, but that doesn't stop these sickies... Why would ANYONE think that one more policy or law will offer absolute protection.

REFUSE to patronize ANY business that post a "No Guns Allowed" sign, for your own safety if for no other reason.

It is possible to find out you're in a place that carry is not allowed after the fact.

Ok, so you carry your gun into a place where they are not allowed. Everything going good and nobody knows. Someone opens fire , illegally carrying. If I were to shoot to prevent further killing or injury, would I be thrown in jail or loose gun and permit? Just curious.

At the end of the day, it's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6, but you do so at your own risk.

I just choose not to even enter those establishments if it can be avoided.

Ignorance of the law is never an excuse. It is your responsibility to know if you can or cannot.

Here in SC, you will be in less trouble by carrying w/o a CWP than with one if you are caught carrying in the wrong place.

If you want to claim ignorance, don't even get a permit. Not sure about other states but that's how SC rolls. I have several friends who will not get a permit just so they can carry EVERYWHERE I know I can't.

I can't live that way and maybe someday I won't because of my propensity to abide by the law.

Well I wasn't taking about places that are always off-limits as much as a place that may posted a small or hard to see sign that you unintentionally missed.

Here in Mississippi they are repuired to post a sigh that is in the open and can be read 50 ft away.

You would not be breaking the law in Iowa if you entered with a concealed weapon and the business had a "sign". It's not illegal to carry where a sign is posted, but they can ask you to leave if they find out.

I carry when I go to my doctor's appointment in a hospital that just recently made it policy to post the no weapons signs. Yes, I'm saying that publicly. I've even talked about it with my doctor, as that office is pro 2a but the hospital is not. They even have had several incidents of drug seekers that tore up the office, and they could do nothing, up and including one pulling a knife on the staff.

I don't have much choice about not patronizing them, as I have very few options when it comes to this specialist.
