OK, In the Edit Avatar screen, you should find this:

Option 1 - Enter the URL to the Image on Another Website _____________________________________
Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer _________________________________________________
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).
Find a picture you'd like to use. Make sure it meets the size requirement and still looks good. Enter the URL address, or select the file from your computer. If you want a picture from your computer, click the upload button once the file is selected.

wrcandrews, do a Google search for '100 X 100 avatars'. There are a lot of pre-made avatars available for free. You may find one that you like.
