Good thing that they are felons, otherwise they could get a discount.

Up here in Ohio you cannot be a medic/emt/fireman if you have a felony. I thought that was a national law. guess not.

they are found in every occupation, come in all shapes sizes and genders. the state of Va. upon charges being filed not after a conviction but as soon as their agency is made aware and dept of ems is notified the provider( emt -b- e- i-p) certification is immediatly pulled until such time as he proves his innosence in court or his/her certifications are gone permanently when he/ she is covicted. LIS > Administrative Code > 12VAC5-31-910 its happend more often than most people immagine. i believe there is arecent case against a newport news vs police officer ( not sure if its gone to trial yet).. no discount for them oh and here is the reg that allows them to revoke their license http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp...+12vac5-31-230

Hell its Texas guys. I have not met any guy from Texas who was not some kind of Perv. If they didn't allow them to do the job then there would not be anybody to fill the positions!J/K All kidding a side. only 22 states have laws that prohibit sex offenders from working in the Health and safety fields. Im betting that many states have offenders working in Nursing homes, hospitals, and emt's

well its like this. employers and the state cant prohibit anyone from working in any field until they are under inditement or have been convicted of an offense. should you google any occupation and tag sex offense on the end of it you will find a whole bunch of cases. now for some reason a lot of states dont find this to be a disqualifying offense that is something that i disagree with. Va does disqualify sex offenders i personally have worked with one young man who was convicted at age 19 of having carnal knowlege of a minor and charges of producing child pornografy. the very day he was arrested the state pulled his certs and notified both of his employers that he is to in no way be onboard any licensed ems vehicle. he was then forced to resign from both jobs immediatly. its unfortunate that some states dont have laws prohiting sex offenders from working in the healthcare field.
