This story also proves that you don't let the police search your vehicle or your home without a warrant. That's ridiculous. I understand that Garcia had nothing to hide and isn't breaking the law by having lots of ammo, but you still don't let them crack the trunk.

Know your rights, and stand by them.

This was in MA and there are very strict laws on guns and ammo there. He may or may not have known about them and I don't know the details but he did in fact break several laws that can carry heavy fines and jail time. I don't know all the details of the laws so won't even try to but he is in big trouble even if they don't prove the smuggling connection.

Ammo possession of over 10,000 rounds, a gun with a mag capacity of more than 10 rounds, improper storage of weapons at home are all violations in MA.

No your saying that MA residents can't own more than 10,000 rnds? That's ridiculous. Who cares how much ammo we have. as long as we remain law abiding citizens who cares.

With regards to the ammo there is a law in MA that requires a permit from the local fire department if you want to possess more than 10k rounds of rimfire, 10k centerfire or 5k shotgun shells.
This is from another board but sounds like what he was charged with.

I think what we should be noticing here, is the MAN HAS COMMITTED NO CRIME!

The mere possession of any quantity of ammunition is not a crime!

I would highly recommend writing to the NRA, GOA, SAF, JPFO and your representatives, senators in Washington about this...

"SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" means just that, there are no limits on the number of firearms or ammunition you can keep or bear...

we can't let this get swept under the rug...

Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, New York City are about as close to the Communist Soviet Union as you can get when it comes to gun laws. My guess is, with the ammo shortage effecting everyone, the Local Police Dept. probably needed the ammo.

This was clearly a BATFE engineered Second Amendment Infringement, with Massachusetts, an accessory after the fact...

<snip>
..."joint effort" by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and state police found that Garcia had previously bought 20,000 rounds of ammunition in New Hampshire.
...
<snip>

mmm... just how do you suppose there was any record of the guy having a single bullet to begin with?

Just what part of "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED", do they not understand?

I contend the the guy committed no crime, but the BATFE & Massachusetts committed egregious crimes against this guy and his family, and should be held Civilly and Criminally liable for their treatment of this man and his family...

As I mentioned in my earlier post in this thread, we need to PROACTIVELY take action, before our friends, family, neighbors and or ourselves are NEXT!

"If we do nothing, we can only say we did nothing" - George Washington

Here's the open gauntlet...

SOMEBODY, find ANY Federal, State, County, City or other Municipality Law, that limits the QUANTITY OF AMMUNITION YOU MAY HAVE...

AND POST IT HERE...

IT certainly is possible that I missed it, but I have been unable to find any president or law permitting such action... (of course even if there is a law, it still would be a Second Amendment Infringement)

Please don't post something that is not from a Primary Source...

There is none on the Brady Bunch's site, and as a side line, they Rate the Republic of Kalifornia #1 out of all other states, in Firearm Laws They Endorse! (Second Amendment Infringements) and Massachusetts, is tied for 3rd... (Remember that all you MITT BOT'S whom supported Mitt Romey, in case he try's to make a go of it again! MITT ROMNEY SIGNED THE MASSACHUSETTS SO-CALLED ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN INTO LAW, WHEN HE WAS GOVERNOR, AMONGST OTHER SECOND AMENDMENT INFRINGEMENTS)

No AMMO QUANTITY LAWS listed on the BATFE's site, and as another side-line, the republic of Kalifornia alone consists of 15% of ALL the State Firearm and Ammunition laws in their current telephone book of State Sponsored Second Amendment Infringements...

I found some old bills that died at the federal level, that basically tried to classify someone as a armory if they had 1000 rounds of ammunition or more...

And Albany, NY introduced one that died as well...

Additionally, it should be noted that before England, Australia, Canada and India banned firearm and ammunition ownership, by law-abiding citizens, they limited the amount of ammunition you could have, (AS HAVE ALL OTHER SOCIALIST COUNTRY'S THAT GUN BAN OBAMA & COMPANY SEEM TO BE SO FOND OF) and used background check information to confiscate firearms from law-abiding citizens after they banned the firearms they previously legally obtained... (YES FOLKS NICS WAS, IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE A BAD IDEA)
