These are some of the notable events to happen on this day throughout history. Wonder how history would have changed had the US adopted Florida style “shall issue” rights for ALL in the 1970’s?

1978, David Berkowitz, the New York killer called 'Son of Sam' was given life imprisonment for each of the six people he killed.

1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were slashed to death outside her Los Angeles home; OJ Simpson was later acquitted of the killings in a criminal trial, but held liable in a civil action.

Just for a little perspective, the District of Columbia had a blanket ban on ownership, possession and carry of handguns in its jurisdiction which began in 1976; this was struck down June 26, 2008 by the United States Supreme Court. (More)
