Not sure how deep the roots go there for you, but the option to move is always a real one... I don't think that I could live where freedom has been removed, controlled, or denied. NRA is always a good place to begin. Good luck.

Ah, yes, sweet Taxachussets.... land that gave us compulsory health care coverage courtesy of Romney....... lovely homeland of the Kennedy clan, those defenders of individual liberty in the face of power hungry socialists..... haven of the individual right to own and carry firearms, regardless of type, without an unconstitutional and difficult to acquire license.

C'mon, 6shooter. I might buy your statement if you were one state to the north.

I would start by replacing the governor. A few years ago ( I don't remember the exact year, but it might have been 2006) both houses of the Wisconsin legislature passed a concealed carry bill by large margins. After Gov. Doyle vetoed it, it fell less than five votes short of being overridden in one ofthe chambers (the Senate, I believe). The legislature is remarkably pro gun; it's the governor who's standing in the way right now.

Definitely start at the top with the Gov of WI. In response to Boomboy, I am also resident of the PRMA and yes we have a lousy reputation. However, we do have concealed carry. It's a start. We have a great state gun lobby GOAL, Gun Owners Action League. If not for them and the NRA, it might be worse. I'm constantly scratching my head in amazement that here I sit, in the cradle of Freedom, where it all went down.....Paul Revere's ride, Concord Bridge, The Shot Heard 'Round The World, The Boston Tea Party and....the place is now run by a bunch of Liberal Nut Jobs! At least Ted Kennedy is gone!

I lived in NY before... MA is a step in the right direction. I was able to acquire an unrestricted Class A LTC here by proper means with no major issues (Pays to be friends with and be respected by local LEOs)... NH is closer to True Freedom I will agree… For now the $$ is here… When the kids have found their way in the world, I’ll be south of the Mason Dixon Line…TN, GA, VA maybe… My Brother lives in GA and likes it there. So far I’ve been free to do what I want here… Class A allows for high capacity firearms… As far as the sales tax issue goes, Visit HN when shopping for big ticket items… There is no law yet that says I can’t do that…

Doyle is a Dim and I feel he is just being the biggest jerk around.
This is his last term in office and as far as that goes I do not feel the Dims will be in office in this state much longer.
I feel the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution should override the sates on conceal carry but my hubby straightened me out on that one.

NRA here I come along with a copy to Doyle.

I met Teddy once when he was doing PR visits at local colleges for the Massachusetts Education Reform Act. I have to thank him for that, but blocking the plan to build electrical generating windmills off the coast, Yeah; Lets just keep using fossil fuel and paying for it... Oh well... It's been good and bad here... The "Cradle of Freedom" ain't what it used to be... When the time is right I'll move south or south-west...

With that typed... The issue in WI is worse. I agree with removing the Gov. More and more lately I'm reading reports and hearing about the increase in the number of people applying for firearms licenses and how the pro gun and pro freedom/rights movement is growing in America. At some point in time the people will have enough force to move opposition… Keep at it as Freedom is worth the fight…
