Don't know about Georgia but in South Carolina it must remain in vehicle and locked on school grounds.Hi. I'm new to firearms carrying and just applied for my GFL two weeks ago. To prepare I've been reading through the various laws however I still have a question I hope someone smarter than me can answer... Now I know GA law says a GFL holder can carry while dropping off or picking up a _student_, but I don't have a student at the local school. I have a teacher.
My wife is a 2nd grade teacher and I sometimes have to pick her up, drop her off, or come to the school with her to do some work in the classroom. Would it be illegal if I were to carry while dropping her off in the morning or picking her up in the afternoon? What about leaving the firearm in the car while I go inside to deliver a box of books or a stack of pizzas? What about leaving it in the car while the wife and I go into the classroom to move desks/tables/boxes/computers around for a few hours to get ready for the beginning/ending of the school year?![]()
