 I have joined you ranks! I went to a gun show today and found me a G30. I was looking around at 45cal ammo and was amazed at all the different loads. Prices were a little high so I didn't buy any. So now what is a good load for target practice? and what is a price I should expect? And the ammo guy told me not to use lead, is that true?? Tues is going to be range day (closed on Mon).

| I don't know about the lead issue, other than the fact they tend to cause a buildup in the barrel. Before the prices went up last year I stocked up on the CCI Blazer Brass from Wally World & haven't had a problem w/ it. I never had a problem w/ jams, my Glock took just about anything, but my S&W HATED anything other than brass. But, I got it from my paramedic instructor, and he shot competition w/ it & had a buttload of work done to it, so it is a finiky beast. Love it, but it's just not a ccw piece d/t that fact. Don't trust my family's, or my life to a precision piece as that.
