I have a magpul enhanced trigger guard on mine. Looks great and makes it easier to shoot with gloves.

No problem. My mod was on a DPMS parts kit and made a big difference. Let us know how yours turns out and what parts kit you are working with. I'm sure this improves some brands more then others.

Along with this lower, they manufacture an AR upper with quick change barrels for different calibers. If you only want one AR, this one's expensive. If you want ARs in multiple calibers, this system will quickly pay for itself. I've read a few reviews on MGI products; all of them faorable.

I just reread your reply. Since you want an AR to share ammo with your AK, might as well get one that shares mags too.

Keep me posted on your project. Also, AR15.COM has a collective wealth of knowledge on both the AR and AK platforms. I'm echo_5 on that board.
Thanks for the info. I am impressed with the MGI modular AR-15. Their site is here. Their MARCK-15 which is a complete modular AR-15 in 7.62.x39mm isn't cheap at $2199 MSRP.

My 5.56 AR is enhanced with an EOTech and a VFG. The HWS is for faster target aquisition, not precision. I'm thinking about ditching the foregrip on this one:

My 40S&W AR also has a VFG but this one also has a light for target identification. It's what I grab when I hear a "bump" in the night. The VFG and sling are for weapon retention. I keep 'em utilitarian. I plan to SBR soon:

OOPS! Old pic doesn't show the light

+1. The large aperature is a CQ ghost ring; meant to be used up close with both eyes open. I prefer to aim every shot. If I'm close enough that I want to use a 2 or 3 round burst, I'll point shoot while looking over the rifle.

Need help y'all...I have a simple Oly, with fixed handguard, and like many of you, all those years of good livin' courtesy of Uncle Sam, are catching up with me, eyes first. Any recommendations on scopes that will fit the screw on rail at the top of the carrying handle? Would anyone recommend those Barska's that seem to be on sale? Am interested in plinking only, 100 yards is max at my range. Thanks in advance!
