Are you less likely to shoot someone because of your faith in Christ? Here's what I mean. If some guy wants your wallet and that's it, do you give it to him rather than pull your gun and send him to let God judge?

If you're alone, and you're carjacked, do you give the guy your truck and spare his life, or shoot him?

It's one thing to defend your family from attack, but it's another to take his life for material things... you see what I'm getting at? Is there a point where you decide it's better to give the BG your material possessions and let God judge rather than send him to judgment yourself?

Just a discussion starter.

I would assume that said carjacking or robbery is at gun or knifepoint. If at gunpoint, it's probably already too late to draw and fire, but if I get the opportunity, I take the shot. Just because he says "give me your car/ wallet or I'll shoot" doesn't mean he won't shoot anyway. If it's at knifepoint I'll atleast draw, and depending on his proximity and reaction, I'll decide weather to fire or not.

Again, this isn't just so that I may retain my material possessions, it is that I can't be 100% sure that compliance will keep me alive.

I am a professor of theology, and the question of faith arises nearly every semester when the students find that I am a CCP holder. Usually I have the students debate the question, and then I have them write papers arguing their personal view on the subject.HAHA

In my opinion, regardless of whether or not my family is with me, they depend on me. Thus, if even alone, I will administer heavy doses of lead vitamins!! It may not be a theological answer, but it is certainly a logical answer, which then can be supported theologically!!!HAHA

If it were me the BG does not get my wallet because it has to much personal info such as address what's stopping him from coming to my house to inflicting more trauma to me or my family. So yes shot.
The car issue is iffy. My car is a hunk of junk. HAHA.

Whether or not robbery is at gunpoint, first toss wallet some distance beyond perpetrator. As he/she goes to retrieve it, pull your gun and surprise perp. If he/she acts in a threatening way and you feel that you are in danger, by all means, shoot. The issue isn't about the wallet...it's about surviving.
