Welcome to the forum, pocketrocket47! !
Pastor Plinker: I've got a CW9 that I've been carrying for about a year. My defense ammo of choice is the Federal HST 147gr (9mm Federal LE Tactical® HST®). From what I've seen in various tests conducted by people on the Interwebz, there really isn't much benefit of going to +P--the 147gr standard pressure expands like a monster anyway *without* the extra wear and tear. I agree that the Kahr mags are ridiculously expensive, but I bought two 8-rounders anyway (I keep a 7-rounder in the gun, one in the pipe and an 8-round mag in the second pouch of my SmartCarry holster). I wasn't able to find any after market brands--that's the penalty one pays, I suppose, for purchasing a niche gun. :-\ By the way, as a pastor (I'm presuming your handle reflects real life), how do you feel about the fact that the owner of Kahr, Justin Moon--son of "Rev." Sun Myung Moon and thus by purchasing a Kahr, you've indirectly supported the "Moonies"?
New to the forum... I have been carrying a Kahr PM9 for about 3 years. I have it with me most of the time, either IWB or in the front pocket of cargo pants/shorts. I have put probably 2500+ rounds of mostly my reloads through it with no issues. Like bigdan I am partial to 147gr HST. I liked the PM9 so much I also got a P380 and then a CW9 and CW45. They are all winners in there own way. The CW9 has become my wifes carry gun. I'm not going to get it back. The CW45 rides IWB during the winter and the P380 goes with me when nothing else will fit easily.
