    Jim Cirillo used this ammo in the M-1 Carbine that he used durring his tenure on the NYPD stakeout squad. Admittedly a carbine is a step up from a handgun.

    This ammo has been around for a while, it is probably on par with Winchester Silvertip or most of the older JHP ammo designs.
