Default 122 grain 9mm flat point load data???

I came across a 500 box of lead 122 gr 9mm (.356) flat point for $20 so I bought it. Only problem is none if my load manual list this style of bullet. Anyone have any load data using accuate #2.

The manuals I have list 124gr lead round nose at 4.0 to 4.6 grains and 115gr lead round nose at 4.6 to 5.2 grains. I was thinking of starting out at 4.2 gr of #2 and seating the bullet just deep enough so the case head is flush with the chamber (1.018 OAL).

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'd just use the data for the 124 gn RN(L) bullet. I'd start at 4.0 gns and work up from there.

No.2 124 LC RN(L) 4.0 895 4.6 1,017 31,100 1.095

Thanks Red Hat. I had loaded up some at 4.2 gr so I'm going to go back and load some at 4.0 gr. The bullet seating depth has me alittle worried. Right now its 1.018 but if I go past 1.020 the bullet gets pushed into the rifling. Well, I guess this gives me an excuse to go to the range tomorrow! Thanks for the help.

I use 3.8 gr of Titewad. This is my current recipe with a 124 gr bullet for target practice, and is a nice soft shooter. This is a shotgun powder that was used years ago by IPSC shooters. I get 1300-1400 rounds to a pound. It is up at the top of the burn chart, so a little goes a long way. I have used this for 9mm, .40 cal 180 gr @ 4.2 gr, .45cal 200gr SWC @ 4.1, and 38.
