You're carrying a brand spanking new sidearm that's never been fired with ammunition you don't know if it will reliably feed?

So I finally joined the pocket pistol craze and purchased my very first ever .380 (Ruger LCP).
I never thought that I would carry anything smaller than a 9mm...I guess I was wrong.
I have not fired it as of yet, bu I have to admit that I love carrying this little Ruger.
It's so easy to conceal and with the hotter weather that we are having it's much more comfortable for me.
I wanted to load it with Hornady Critical Defense but Cabela's was all sold out of Critical Defense so I opted for the CorBon High Velocity 90 Grain JHP's for right now.
Any thoughts on the Cor Bon ammo?
Good?
Bad?

You will love the LCP.
I agree, I wouldnt carry any ammo that I hadnt fired first. Especially with a brand new gun. As far as Corbon ammo is concerned, I have been carrying the Bersa thunder 380 CC for some time now. I use Winchester PDX1 for my carry ammo. This is ONLY because in my area Corbon DPX is very hard to come by. If you can I would carry Corbon PDX but ONLY after I had fired at least 50 rds of it through my intended carry piece. The big deal here is you are carrying an unfired pistol with untried ammo. Not a good Idea.![]()
I am sure you need to take tht to the range.. The first 100 plus rounds the slide sticks and you have to force the first cock into place correctly till its broken in
I'll be damned if that gibberish doesn't sound obscene.Originally Posted by justxboxin:305495

My LCP has been perfect with ball ammo and hp. I wish I had bought the small gun first but I was convinced I needed something larger than .380. I carry Hornady TAP but have read Corbon is highly effective too. I added a clip to my LCP because it slips out of the Uncle Mikes holster when I carry it in my lower cargo pocket. Let us know what you think after you shoot your new gun. I use finger nail polish to make the sights more visible and it lasts a long time between coats. Enjoy.
I had no problems from round 1 until I sold my LCP many, many rounds later. My reloads, W white box, Magtech or any of the several hp's that I tried all functioned perfectly. There is no easier gun to hide in your pocket.
Unfortunately my wife hated to shoot the lcp. Her grip was not strong enough to handle the recoil.
I missed it so much I bought a Kahr P380. Still easy to hide but much easier to shoot well. Cost a lot more too.. My wife likes it much better.
