    Taurus TCP 380

Anyone have experience with this pistol?

I canít get mine to fire reliably my friend and I bought our pistols the same day. We both have problems with cartridge ejection. At least every other mag. shows a jamb on both guns!! I had the range officer fire mine he stated you must hold these pistols very tight, he had the same problem!
Mine is back at Taurus for the second time, same problem. If you send your pistol back even for the second time you go to the back of the line. So far Taurus has had mine for a month total.
I asked for a new pistol Taurus stated they never do this, Iím stuck.
Iíve fired at least two hundred rounds through it so itís not a break in issue, just a bad Taurus!!!

Beware folks if you buy one?

    Default Try a Bersa thunder.380

I have had my Bersa .380 for 4 years now and it functions flawlessly, and its very accurate, not to mention they have been around a lot longer than Taurus, they are not expensive either, and very well made,if you want a good reliable .380,I would check it out.

I bought a new TCP .380 in Sept and could not get more than 2 rounds to fire w/o a jam. Average of 3 jams per clip, almost always FTE (Failure to Eject).

The gun was returned to Taurus, and I received the package back after 10 days. The end of the package said "new gun" so I assume they just replaced the pistol. The new gun has the same problem, often jamming on the first shot. Will call again tomorrow, but I will never be confident with this gun as a concealed carry. Probably OK if used as a single shot only.

It is your right to ***** about a POS gun I would and have, but all I can say regarding the 738 is my wife and I each carry one as a bug, would not use it as a main carry, I dont beleve the little 380 is enough on its own, you have to be close and shot placement is critical, however in the time we have had the 738s we have probably put well over 1000 rds the two guns, and have not had a single gun caused malfunction, had some junk ammo once, primers dented but no boom, but I have to say one thing about Taurus cust service, IT SUCKS.

Do you have previous experience with small, light pistols? I would bet a donut that you are limp wristing this gun. Have you tried it with a tight, two-handed grip?

If so, sorry about your bad luck!

Another thing, and I'm not advocating one over the other, but we also had a Ruger LCP and a cheap raven I think it was, also in 380, biggest issues with the ruger was the trigger pull it seemed like a mile, and it was real bad with cycleing if limp wristed, a lot worse than the Taurus, as I said in a previous post if I had a gun that screwed up it would be gone, no sending it back for repair, no trading it for another of same, just gone, one example, not to offend Hootman but my wife and I had three of those (SCCY 9mm) I think the only way your going to hurt BG with one of those is to throw it at them, in fact the episode with the SCCYs is what convinced me that if a new gun of any kind screws up, trade it back off imeadeatly, no repair, no send it back, just get another brand gun

Thumbs up No problems with my TCP

I purchased the Taurus TCP and absolutely love it. No jams or problems after a break in period of 250 rounds. It's very accurate and has a buttery smooth trigger pull. I'm very happy with my purchase.

No experience with that particular pistol, but plenty of experience (more like a nightmare) with Taurus' poor customer service and crappy products.

Of course there are folks that get lucky and wind up with a good product from Taurus, but it's been my experience and witness that a lot of their stuff is junk, not like I remember it being back in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Problems like sending the wrong parts for a user firearm repair under warranty, 20 pound trigger pulls, to peeling barrel guts, to bad guide rods on revolvers, to a pistol shooting 7 inches low and 2 inches left at just 21 feet, even had a cylinder shoot out of a revolver when it was fired (working as a range safety at the time)...trust me there's a lot more, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Their heaviest problems seem to lie in their newer lightweight revolvers and their polymer pistols. I've not heard or witnessed any issues with the Judge line (yet) and very little issues come up about the 1911 and 92F copies, though I watched a 92F copy shear the ear off of a barrel lug in 1/2 at it's thickest point.

It took 17 weeks for me to get a refund on a PT145 and at that point they still hadn't even evaluated the pistol (it was still in the shipping container), yet they tried to tell me that I just needed to learn how to shoot.

    My issue:

Chamber was out of round and casings were oval shaped as they were ejected.
    Chamber had burs throughout.
Pistol shot approximately 7 inches low and 2 inches left at 21 feet. Verified by 6 different shooters, 2 of them were armorers.

Just another opinion. I know, I know, everybody has them they are like..
Anyway I have a Ruger LCP amd a Kahr P380. I love the LCP. Very accurate little gun.
As far as the Kahr, it is an expensive gun but the quality is there. Just like a big gun only smaller.
