I have a Bersa 380 and it's a fine little gun carried it as back-up for a couple of years, but never real wanted to stake my life on it. I got a Rossi 327 Magnum this thing will stop an elephant. OK maybe I got a little carried away but the 327 Magnum is a fine handgun and the perfect size for a back-up with a lot more stopping power than any .380
Going to your back up pistol can be faster than reloading your primary carry piece. The practice is termed the "New York Reload" because of Jim Cirillo's reliance on the technique.
