You need to shoot one for yourself to know for sure about the recoil. See if a local range will rent one.
I have the SR9 & i will be getting the SR9c for better concealment & the mag compatibility.
Ruger SR40c I currently own a Ruger SR40 and am thinking about getting an SR40c or SR9c. The .40 cal would be nice for Mag compatibility, but I am a little concerned about recoil in the compact. Does anyone have one and how much more recoil does it produce compared to the SR9c?

Either would be a good choice. As you have the SR40 I would lean toward the SR40C so I don't have to have 9mm and .40. I have the SR9C and have been very happy.
