Default 1911 kept in con 1

I'm sure this has been asked several times but I honestly am not sure, my question is on a typical 1911 pistol kept in condition 1 cocked&locked, does it weaken or damage the hammer spring if kept cocked indefinatly,?

On a very old, original, pistol it could possibly cause issues. But on modern pistols, with modern steels, it shouldn't be an issue. I've seen documented cases of magazines getting loaded for 10+ years without issue. A hammer sporting should be similar.

ok, the 1911 is a proven system. Also

carrying condition 1 is the best way of carrying this model of firearm. carrying the magazine fully loaded is fine.

I carry my EMP 40 like that or my Kimber CDPII pro. (noy all the time, but I do carry aKimber)
