I went and clicked on it, and chose an option for my firearm (link above). It said, "only illegal in California". Is it legal to own if you have the paperwork for it? If not, why is DeSanti's selling an illegal holster? Why is an illegal holster an ad on this site?
Notice the difference between this (the Desantis Holster):

and this (the holster Pustic had originally posted):

The slide is exposed in the holster that is legal at the Federal level (top). Thus, that holster only falls under state law.

The entire gun is disguised by the bottom holster, and the gun can be operated without removing it from the holster. Both of those factors together make the holster an "Any Other Weapon" and requires the NFA registration and tax stamp to be legal. Otherwise, it is Federal felony to have a gun in the holster.

This thread just gets worst and worst... It also illustrates the difference between the different states and mindsets. The OP is extremely unsophistocated in his thought process and hopefully we all learn a lesson- I have had a long talk with my friends about why I carry and the responsabilities that go with that, decision. Its not a game, not a sport for points and bragging rights. Its simple life and death-period.

I see the difference...not covering the slide allows the semi automatic to cycle properly...the derringer doesn't need that, but they both make a pocket gun look like a wallet and operate without drawing.

Like most gun infringements, I don't see the point, Either holster is a bad idea, in my mind, with no trigger cover. I don't see this restriction stopping anyone who hasn't all ready educated themselves on proper holsters.
