    Default Open Carry in Alabama?

    Can anyone tell me what the law is on open carry in Alabama? I have gotten conflicting information on this subject.

    What conflicting information are you getting?

    OC is legal in AL and no permit is required for it while out walking about. A CCW permit is required while carrying concealed and while carrying in a vehicle.

    There are some places more tolerant of it in AL than others. Go to the ALOC site for more info.
