Default I'm in love with my j frame!

I thought I'd put this post out there for people looking for a good concealed carry weapon. I tried just about every option available to me before finding my s&w 642 snub.

First off weight and concealability. I'm not sure if its the lightest I've owned but it sure feels like it. I also love how it tucks just about everywhere with the rounded butt.

Reliability! Out of 220 mixed rounds yesterday I had 1 bad one. A critical defense no less! The best part though is that the rest still have a chance to go bang! I kept it in the cylinder for about 30 rounds before giving up on it, but there's nothing more comforting then hearing a click, then bang!

A great round with low recoil. There is lots of different 38 options, from 110 jhp to 158 and +P. I don't bother with +P because .38 doesn't lack in the penitration department but if you want the gun to jerk you around a little its there! My 12 year old son was blowing off shots with 150 grain American eagle no problem. It was a tad to much for the wife but some hogue grips can fix that.

So there you have it folks, I highly recommend a snub nose for anyone looking for a simple carry piece. Obviously everyone differs a little but just don't rule them out when shopping!

If I was trying to consolidate I would try to get a carbine and a pistol that took the same ammunition and if possible, the same magazines. Like a Ruger PC4 and a P94 for instance.

You kept the round in the cylinder through six or seven reloads of the cylinder, with every opening a chance for it to go bang in your face?

    Interesting!
