I have a glock 19 Gen 4 about 800 rds through it, not one malfunction whatsoever
I'm a firearm instructor and all my class room guns are Gen3 Glocks. I just updated my class room guns to Gen 4 G17 with out the " updated " recoil springs and all have ran 100% with out any malfunctions. I see no reason to get the lighter spring. Any one have problems with there Gen4 9mm Glocks?

Same here, 19 gen4, about 1000 rounds thru and not a single malfunction. If something was going to go wrong it would have already.
I have the new 34 Gen 4 and love it! No issues whatsoever, except my shooting :-)
Hey there... Just got this app. Kinda curious. Right now I have a Taurus PT 709 slim 9mm.
Ok, I'm planning on trading in the 709 and getting a Glock 23. So, what are the opinions on whether a 40 s&w, or the 19 in 9mm.
Thanks for all the input.![]()
Glock's will always rock i.m.h.o.
I have a couple of gen2's and gen3's right now.
I don't have a gen4 as of yet, but when I do purchase one, I am 'very confident' that I will have no problems whatsoever with it.
Rock on and ~stay safe~ my fellow Glock owners!

My son purchased one right after they came out. He was experiencing spent brass to the face, stovepipes, and double feeds. Glock had him send it back, they fixed it for no charge including postage both ways. Perhaps Glock identified and fixed the problems in 19s that are recent purchases.
I bought two Glock 23s in July, a Gen 3 for my wife, and a Gen 4 for myself. My wife chose the Gen 3 because she did not care for the RTF grip, which I myself preferred (already having a Gen 3 G22 with the early RTF). All our Glocks are reliable, and a pleasure to shoot. Probably 150 rounds through mine, 100 through my wife's. Also 1,000 rounds through the G22.
I called and ordered the replacement spring, and they sent me the wrong one - guide rod sticks out 1/2" in front of the slide, so I put back the original. So I haven't tried it with the new spring assy, and don't feel the need.
I'd like to buy a few more Glocks. I like 'em.
I purchased a Gen4 Glock 19 and had some FTE and stovepipes on my first time out. I called Glock and they sent a label and fixed it very quickly. I think it was one the 9mm that were giving it the problems.
The problem was with the original "03" spring. It was made for the heavier loads, so the WWB from Wally's was not generating enough force to eject. From that they went to an "04" spring which worked much better but was not up to "Glock Perfection." As of about 2-3 months ago they have totally obliterated the problem using an "0-3-4" spring. Glock will send one of these new springs out if you have a Gen4.
I've had other Glocks and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Glock 19. I put a Ghost Ultimate on it and it fires like a dream. I would put my trigger up against any gun. IT IS PERFECT!!!
I have a Taurus PT 709 slim in 9, and a Glock 27 gen 4 in 40. I like them both and they are a ittle different. There are some features about the Taurus I really appreciate, especially (and I hope I am phrasing this right) the single action double action that has second strike capability. I love shooting my Glock. The first time I shot it, I was amazed! It handled nice, shoots well, and the low recoil realy impressed me. So I carry both.
