    Default SW Governor

I did a search and did not find any thread on the governor.

I'm getting ready to buy another gun and been looking at this for a few months. I haven't found one at the range or gun store. Does anyone own this gun or know anything bad about it.

    Google search "SW Governor review".

I've read quite a bit about the Gov and the Taurus Judge as well. The general consensus is that they're pistols that do 2 things - neither particulary well. It's little more than a gimmick. If you're getting this pistol for personal protection, I'd advise you to get something else...something that does one thing very well like shoot a 9mm slug, a .45 slug, etc. If you're buying it to have a great time shooting pumpkins, water jugs, clay pigeons, etc., then by all means pick one up.

Try THIS link... Product: Model GOVERNOR&reg with Crimson TraceŽ Laser Grips

There is one model that is $689.00 without the laser grips.

this will be just for shooting at the range. I already have a few that will work for protection.

I put the laser grips on my 1911. and I'm thinking of taking them off or removing the battery. I like to use the sights and I find myself using the laser instead. I know just keep my finger off the button, but that's the way I grip the gun and not ready for change.

I played with one at the range a month ago. Shot all 3 flavors of ammo. A lot of fun and very easy to control. My accuracy was very good. .45 acp and .45 colt both shot nice tight patterns. The 410 not so much. Firearm appeared well made.

If I were going to carry it, I'd be tempted to mix the ammo, start with the 410 to catch their attention followed by the .45 to get serious.

I have a Judge, I wish it could shoot 45ACP. Much cheaper than 410 or LC. Other than that it is a fun gun to shoot.

I went by a local gun shop in the Ft Laud area to order the Governor. I was not happy with the owners the sales person was great. They not only wanted me to pay MSRP but they also added a $25 shipping change. Needless to say they will not be getting by business. I found the gun a few hundred miles away near another home we own, so I will be going to check on the other house and come home with the Governor. The store in central Florida put the gun on hold until Monday without me even putting down a deposit.
