    Default 9mm or 45?

    9mm or 45 and why?
I carry all 9's Ruger & Kel-Tec and my friends says nothing will do the job but a 45. I disagree and feel 9's are great with plenty of punch for the job. Not to mention ammo is cheaper and most 9's will hold more rounds than a 45. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be able to afford a Kimber 1911 but it is not as easy to carry as my Kel-tec PF9 or as affordable. What do you say?

Lol. 9mm is just as good as any. With good defensive hollow points you can't go wrong. 9mm, .45 .40 all are good. I carry a Glock 19.

    Both are good...
That's why I decided to meet somewhere in the middle.

Shot placement, situational practice practice pratice, then train a little more.

I just retired a .40 in favor of a new .45. Changed from a 3rd Gen S&W to a Glock 36. What does that mean? Nothing really. I have an LCP also when I can't carry a full size gun and a S&W 640 revolver for in between.

As for 9 vs 45? I don't think there is a debate. Carry what you are comfortable and proficient with. Shot placement and skill are what matter most.

I agree with all of the above but bigger is better in the end. I started carrying a .45 recently after being a 9mm fan forever. I just think the punch of the .45 will stop someone faster, God forbid you have to shoot.

Hopefully we will never have to test the theory personally.

I really just started buying a few more .45's because I was running out of cool 9mm's to buy.:):)

It is a tool, learn to use it to it's fullest potential... 22LR used effectively will yield the same results, stopping the assailant and preventing injury to oneself...

Chose the GUN in the CALIBER that works best for you and allows you to maximize your potential. Both of those are important factors...

I own both but I prefer to carry my Smith and Wesson 9mm full frame.

I have a 9mm Beretta. Simple but I prefer my Glock 23 better. The 1911 feels good but it is too heavy for me.
