    Default Taurus 380

I was wondering if anyone carries or has shot the Taurus 738 tcp .380? and if so what do you think about it?
I carry this gun and like it very much, I know it's small but it's comfortable and shoots nice. I am considering going to a larger gun though and keep this one as a b/u.
I've put 200+ rounds through it and not one problem.

I carry a tcp as a b/u and sometimes when I can't carry my glock I like it it shoots well enough.

I did end up havin to polish my feed ramp to get rounds to chamber, but other than that haven't had any other problems.

If your looking for a good pocket holster I use uncle mike size 3 fits perfect

This is my back-up carry as well. Have had it for a few weeks and haven't had a failure yet.

i use this as my primary depending on what i'm wearing/able to conceal. no issues w/ it so far. also bought the extended mag mod for it too. gives you an extra round in the mag and now i can get a full grip on it.

My wife had this gun but decided to trade it solely due to the small size which did not fit her hand well. That being said, the gun was a fine shooter and we had no problems what so ever with quality amunition. I would recommend the grip extension for a better grip from our experiences but its all about what fits you the best.

I bought one as my first foray into concealed carry. I got it used at a local shop. I don't plan on keeping it. Since it was used I have no idea how many rounds were fired through it before I got it. I shot about 130 rounds through it: S&B, American Eagle, Winchester white box, and a few Hornady hollow points. I experienced 2 Fail To Ejects with the Winchester. Then I fired close to 100 more rounds of more Winchester, Federal, and more Hornadys. This time I had about 6-8 FTEs. I just can't carry a gun full time that I can't rely on.

I plan to sell it in a few weeks and get a Ruger SR9c. I've researched the Ruger extensively and believe it will be a reliable EDC.

I just purchased a TCL 380 and haven't even **** it yet but have a question. When I lock my slide back the slide release is extremely difficult to press. I am not weak yet it is almost impossible to release the slide. Anyone else with this problem? Will it get easier as it gets broken in?

My daughter recently purchased a TCP .380, mainly because she tried our Ruger LCP's and didn't like them as well. The gun performed OK but had a few FTE's at first (using cheaper target ammo). She found the gun to be extremely dirty when she cleaned it after less than 100 rounds. What I have experienced with several guns including rifles, shotguns, and black powder guns, is that some manufacturers will pack them in so much cosmoline (sp?) protectant grease that they will gum up fast if not cleaned properly before firing (and let's all admit: we often can't wait to fire a new gun and often skip that first cleaning). Some will cringe at this but I have often put new guns into a hot soapy bath to get rid of that crap, dried all the parts thoroughly, lubed everything well, and have had NO problems. Long story short the TCP is performing like a champ now. I have just picked up some really cheap Russian ammo we are going to try in all the .380's and see what that does. For the price the TCP is a great gun.

Have heard others say this as well. I do not use the slide release on any pistol In own, including the TCP, so I cannot say. You might want to look at the discussions of it on the taurusarmed forums.
